Select an individual, couple, family, or systemic crisis that has affected your community. Reflect on how you would approach intervention for this crisis from a collaborative standpoint. Think about with whom you would need to collaborate, and how and why this collaboration would benefit the client(s).

I lived in a locality where there was a girl’s hostel nearby. Some of my college friends were living in that hostel. One evening I heard the huge noise and loud cries from near the hostel. I rushed out of my house and went there. However, I could not see anyone but in the backyard of the hostel, I saw a girl lying down and crying. I went near her and found out that she was a victim of sexual violence. I know I had to somehow help her. I was consoling her and asking her to come to the hospital along with me. However, she was very afraid and didn’t want to make this incident public. This is why many of the sexual violence cases remain unreported. I consoled her and took her to the hospital and collaborated with the emergency department.
I knew that timely medical intervention was extremely essential for this crisis. However, the forensic nursing care is one of the most essential parties that need to be collaborating with. It is for this reason the victims often suffer. The nursing department was luckily available here and they took good care of this victim. I knew that she will have to deal with the trauma of this mishap so I collaborated with the psychiatrists as well. They will help her in dealing with this trauma and coming out of it. I collaborated with the CAPES unit as well so that she can be taken for a regular visitor there. This would help her deal with the mental crises that she is going through. It will also help her deal in cohabiting suicidal tendencies that she may have.
The last but not the last, I had to collaborate with her family and the police department as well. The family would give her the social and the moral support that she will need the most. The collaboration with the police department is needed to give her protection.
