The purpose of this project is to develop an online registration system for the educational institute that would allow students the register themselves with the institute online for particular courses. The system would first be developed separately as a standalone code and then it would be integrated with the existing system of the school. Java would be used for the development of the system while MySQL would be used for managing database queries.
Project team and their roles
The project team would consist of following members with defined roles and responsibilities:
Project Sponsor:
Assess project viability and approve it for sponsorship
Approve and provide funds for project execution(Pearson, 2000)
Project Manager:
Development of a project management plan
Managing and controlling project deliverables
Selection and recruitment of project members from the staff or from outside as well as assignment of project tasks to each of them
Lead and manage the project team members
Define the project schedule and keep monitoring its progress to keep control over the schedule
Monitor and give progress report to key stakeholders from the upper management of the institute
Prepare a project charter and get the same approved from the project sponsor to get funds
Prepare a schedule for the project and keep monitoring it to establish control on timelines(Bright Hub Media, 2013).
Designer:
Develop architecture for the online registration system
Understand user requirements and develop an online registration system prototype
Analyst:
Analyse the project deliverables for its feasibility
Analyse the requirements of the project and come up with most appropriate resource plan
Developer:
Understand user requirements and prototype document to convert it into program
Develop the codes for the development of application
End Users:
Participate in requirement gathering
Participate in end use testing phase

Gather training requirement from the users
Deliver training to users of the online registration system

Quality Plan
Quality plan would ensure that all the activities and processes required for development of a quality online registration system are completed. The plan defines how quality is managed; identify quality assurance activities, quality control activities, and quality standards (Lacaster University, 2006).

Reduction: Project manager must keep monitoring the project against the cost limitations such that when expenses are found to be increasing beyond limits, specific control measures are taken to bring down the costs in the remaining duration of the project. Conclusions
This document proposed development of an online registration system for the use of college which would allow students to enrol in various programs running in the institute online. The application would be made using Java with MySQL database programming. The paper identified the resource requirements, budget requirements and explained the risks management plan for the project.
