Learning experience
In order for the public to enjoy optimal health care both as citizens and population in general, access to high quality of care is definite. To ensure that this care is offered, there is a need for stronger health care coordinated approach and effective strong public health system. In this sense, health care institutions and organizations need to work in handy in reducing the burden of disease through offering preventive and promotive services supplementing clinical management aspects.
This course highlighted clear perspective on management of diseases, access rights, chronic disease management and focusing on neglected health care services for the populations and the overall system ability of healthcare to support current and future health care needs of the populations.
Efficient health care system allows for affordable health access for all citizens which create a critical link for all beneficiaries. Efficient health care among the young population allows active young population which creates value for the citizen.
The United States health care system provides an array of healthcare team which includes clinicians, health care institutions, health care facilities, insurance schemes, the citizens and organizations that purchase and acquire health care services and other privately owned healthcare systems.
Hence effective health care delivery needs to guarantee the overall population on safety and effective health care, further health care promotion needs to be at the forefront so as to reduce the burden of illness in the near future.
Concepts Learnt
From the research undertaken and learning aspect, it is evident that the future of the healthcare needs to shift to patient-centered care. The health team needs to think like their patients. In a conference meeting at the US News health care of Tomorrow, held in Washington, a message from vice president Lulie, reiterated that the health care management need to undergo a transformation in order to ensure that the care providers see the other side of the patient perspective. In this way, measures will be patient oriented. Bearing this in mind, there is needed to enlighten on previous steps undertaken in health care. Some of the key aspects learned to revolve around the role of social care protections, of key interest is the Affordable Care Act which offers medical coverage to many Americans, (Katelyn & Staff, online, 2018).
The Affordable Care Act of 2010 offers access to medical care and coverage of health care to over 34 million people. Healthcare organizations have felt the strain of large patient rosters who are lining up for care. This has called for improved service delivery to meet the huge demand for health care. This further calls for prudent medical and financial records which are geared towards reducing human error.
With the huge population growth and ever-expanding population, the medical workforce will be essential in this case. Statistics done by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected growth in the medical workforce with the growth rate of 17% between the year 2014 and 2024. This means that future health care needs to focus further on expanding the labor workforce so as to meet the ever-growing need for health care services.
Future topics and ideas of interest
Development of well-rounded skills among health care professionals
As the job opportunities continue to blossom in the healthcare sector, a key aspect is how to develop professionals who have well-rounded skills. In order to succeed in the management of health, current leaders and future managers need to adopt effective ways of ensuring that they are well rounded with skills which ensure they propel their organizations in offering quality care. Hence as a topic of interest, there is need to understand how this aspect can be offered to future leaders to equip them with the future health care needs, (Thompson, Buchbinder & Shanks, 2016).
Infusing interoperability in healthcare
Fundamental future healthcare managers will need to develop and understanding the underlying mechanism and principles on electronic health records. Studies have shown that when electronic health records are compatible and fuse each other, more reliable and relevant information can be obtained. This is attributed to the fact that many patients tend to visit more than one physician, hence having open access to the same data will be beneficial in offering quality health care. Hence as a key aspect in offering quality healthcare, changes need to revolve around this framework so as to ensure right health care is offered adequately to the general population, (Gomes, 2016).
