Analysis of the Student Problem Space The first question you and your group will have to consider in the tutorial is what specific problem affecting Business School students you wish to focus on. To assist with this task, below we have listed five broad problem/topic areas:

5. Uni students and eating. Your first task is to go away and research one of these broad problem areas for uni students.
What perspective you take on the topic area is up to you, however, you should consider – What the problem is?

What is the problem?
The problem that will be discussed here is the lack of space for giving residential accommodations to the University students of Australia. This is a known fact that students from many different regions of the world want to pursue their career from abroad. Australia is one such place from where they want to pursue their career. The cost of renting a house is immensely high in Australia and students have to suffer a lot (Sin 2015). Even in cities like Sydney and Melbourne, places which have witnessed the apartment booms are filled with this housing problem. As the cost of the property is very high the cost of rent gets higher consequently. So, it is really very difficult for the University students to get good accommodation places within their income or their affordability (McLaren et al. 2016).
How big is the problem?
This University student accommodation is indeed a huge problem as the students are often not well informed. There is notably a lack of proper accommodation space but also a lack of proper information regarding the housing rights. The education packages that the students opt for are also very reluctant in informing the students about their rights to get good accommodation at an affordable price. As a result of this, the University students suffer a lot from finding suitable housing facility for themselves (Possamai et al. 2016).
They have to love either in the expensive housings located in the famous of their University or in the off-campus costly houses. However, the issue does not get solve there. The houses or the accommodations of the students are also very unhealthy and unhygienic for their health. This accommodation problem of the forces them to live in poorly furnished abandoned places that might be infested with rats. There are surveys that are carried out to take the feedback from the University students regarding their experiences in Australia (Luthans and Doh 2018). One such survey that was conducted in 2008 shows that students often end up in traumatic situations due to these accommodation problems.
What are the main causes of the problem?
The major causes of this problem are the excessively high rates of land or property. This, in turn, gives rise to the high cost of renting. As a result of this, the University students often find it really tough to bear such heavy housing cost (Schofield et al. 2016). The laws like the boarding house legislation and students accommodation rights are very vaguely described and are confusing for the students to understand (Knox et al. 2016).
Hence, it is a collective duty of the State and the society to be well informed about this aspect and help out the University students. The Government has to formulate and implement the housing policies in a clear manner and make sure that they are actually benefitting the students. The Universities must inform the students about their rights of getting well affordable accommodations. This will ensure that students are able to pursue their studies without any physical or mental stress.
